Before further commitments are made by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent for the revamping of the hospital(s), we are very concerned about the number of full-time jobs this will create in Chatham and Wallaceburg; how traffic will be redirected to ease the Grand Avenue/Ursuline College High School traffic; what increases will the parking at the hospital(s) show in spaces and prices and above all, how are these projects going to be reflected in our already high property taxes?
We recently saw a real estate segment on the TODAY show, where property purchased in Washington State and Oregon are tax exempt for a period of seven (7) years in an attempt to get people to move there. This is also in effect for certain businesses. Why hasn't Chatham considered such a move to bring more businesses and people to this area? Sounds like a great incentive to us. I have yet to hear how the issues stated above are going to be addressed. Certainly the downtown core, is NOT equipped to deal with the additional construction and traffic? These issues, we believe have been neglected in the consideration of this revamping. The quality of care one receives currently in Chatham leaves a lot to be desired. It's a pity that Mr. Coulter (former traffic engineer now deceased), isn't at the helm to direct the traffice issues at least.

My daughters teacher is amazing!
He teaches all the old school values in a modern up beat way. He is making education fun without losing the concept of what school is all about. He and all the children in his 4/5 class work very hard and would really enjoy a subway lunch.

REALLY???? With alot of people in CK loosing their jobs in recent years and taking jobs at one of the mayors wonderful minimum wage call centres. How can the police service justify this? Ya, ya, to bring them in line with their counter parts in the province..... NO RAISE!!! If you want to make as much as your counterparts....MOVE THERE!!! Everyone of my household bills continue to increase in cost and yet I am now making half of what I was making in recent years. I have to suck it up. So can you!

The staff at New Beginnings, Brain Injury Association of Chatham-Kent, are hard-working and very deserving of a 'perk at work' since their job responsibilities don't allow them to leave the premises for lunch. It would be a nice surprise if they were to win!

Chatham kent council should be trying to get people working in chatham kent than increasing taxes, How do they think people here can pay more when they make less every year. We never have anybody with smarts that run for council all they worry about is there paychecks. Start by cutting back with the police by giving the OPP a real chance to get in here, the bigger the cheaper the cost, Also look a the city its self to find money they just waist on things that dont matter to most of us in chatham kent. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

We are so excited about the new format about having lunch delivered to your workplace. Brilliant idea. It's always hard to have everyone leave at the same time. The "boys" or should I say "men" in our office seem to think the telephone is a new invention and they're not sure how it works. Here's hoping we win........
