The Kinsmen Community Centre held its official grand opening with the help of almost $600,000 from the upper levels of government and $200,000 from the municipality. Lifetime Kinsmen member Sheldon Parsons says this day was a long time coming. They used the money to renovate the old Canadian Tire building into a Bingo Hall attached with commercial facilities and a recreation centre.
