Usually I find I have to write the nightmare down on paper, and sometimes by the time I finish detailng the dream, the effect is diminished.  

Try not to miss your nap, you get up really early and your brain needs to close down for a bit in the afternoon.  I find that even if I get a 10 minute snooze it helps with the quality of my sleep during the night.  This seems to get more important as you age...now that I&#039;m in my 50&#039;s if I don&#039;t pay attention to my sleep habits then I&#039;m likely to wake a few times during the night which is a nightmare in itself....</description>
